Travel
Coasthopper bus from Holme to Thornham and onward
Coasthopper buses are brilliant. They run regularly along the North Norfolk Coast from Kings Lynn- Hunstanton – Wells – Cromer, have friendly drivers, offer request stops where possible & welcome well behaved dogs for free (number limited only by space). They offer a range of tickets but we used a 3 day rover which allows unlimited hop on, hop off travel over three consecutive days and is excellent value.

Rest Stops
A celebratory drink (half an Adnams) at The White Horse in Holme-Next-The-Sea. It’s not directly on the path but it’s worth the detour if you’re continuing on the Norfolk Coast Path. Dogs welcome inside the bar and out in the large garden.

Pubs/cafes passed but not visited
None on Peddars Way

Notes
Our original plan was to walk the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path in one go over 6.5 days but we both have short legs and the 17 miles the previous day had pretty much done for us so we decided to finish at the end of the Peddars Way and spend the rest of our trip taking it easy and travelling along the coast by a mixture of bus and foot at a leisurely pace. We vowed to return to complete the path at a later date.
Didn’t see anyone else on the path until we got into Holme but we did see the sea
Couldn’t find the last Norfolk Songline sculpture. It had either disappeared or was hidden in the undergrowth. There were a lot of nettles on the path which were hard to avoid when wearing flip flops. People in sensible walking boots would have no problems.
A149 is quite a busy road to cross and was another pick up the dog and run situation.
Crossing the golf course is a bit like running the gauntlet.
Holme Dunes are gorgeous but the tide was out and we didn’t make it down to the sea for a paddle.

Birds spotted – new to trip
Wheatear
